DAVID ROTHSCHILD
David is a Test Prep and Academic tutor who has spent the past decade helping students build the confidence and core skills that create lifelong learners.
Equally experienced with English essays, AP Bio, Algebra, or SATs, David has become a go-to mentor/coach for families, helping kids to navigate the ups and downs of high school—both in and out of the classroom. David prioritizes close reading, problem solving, and emotional growth in an effort to help students not just “ace the test”—they do!—but in the process become critical thinkers and keen observers of the world they inhabit.

Partnering with Jill to understand each student's strengths and opportunities for growth, David brings energy, passion and (dare I say) fun to all his tutoring sessions. The aim is to both learn the material—and learn to enjoy learning it. (David gives himself bonus points when he gets non-readers to enjoy reading a FULL BOOK!)
A writer, musician, educator, and teacher's son, David has a BS in English & Biology from Duke University, having started college as a pre-med but ending it as a literature nerd—thus disproving the myth of the “STEM” vs “Humanities” kid. David loves building strong bonds with his students and seeing them grow into the kind of students, learners, and young adults we all want more of in the world.
